Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

Post Graduation Work Permit also known as PGWP is meant to withhold skilled foreign students in Canada. Eligible international students can study and later work in Canada thereby contributing to the country’s economy.

PGWP enables students to work in Canada who have graduated from an eligible Canadian designated learning institution (DLI). A DLI is an educational institution approved by the provincial or territorial government for hosting international students. A PGWP allows you to work in the Canadian job market and gain work experience. You can get a PGWP only once and it is non-renewable. Validity of the PGWP depends on the length of the study program you are enrolled in. A PGWP can be valid for upto three years.

Note: Students who fail to meet the requirements of their study permits due to any circumstance will not be eligible to apply for PGWP.

If you are someone currently studying or have completed studies in Canada, and want to get a PGWP, your search ends here. MAPLEROADS IMMIGRATION INC. is here to help you with the process. Call us now for a smooth experience!

  • The PGWP program provides adequate time to international students to continue their stay and work in Canada.
  • The PGWP allows international students to work full time in Canada.
  • Students of foreign nationality with less or negligible work experience have the opportunity to enhance their resume by adding Canadian work experience.
  • Canadian work experience fetches extra points which in turn can be beneficial for achieving a good CRS score to apply for Canadaian permanent residency.
  • PGWP is considered an open work permit.
